    There are not enough periods defined in your Calendar. Please define your future enterable periods error appear in the “Open Period” program; therefore unable to open future period.

    Oracle General ledger calendar is designed to have 13 periods but in my case only 12 periods were defined to cover Jan-Dec months. All I needed an “Adjusting” period which is effectively a 13th period.

    Now the issue resolved.
    The “Other – Calendar Validation Report” helped me to identify the issue.
